These sharpening and dressing sticks are perfect for cleaning and truing-up your sintered diamond burs.

You can keep your sintered diamond carving burs sharp and true with these bur dressing sticks. You can both remove the stone residue that builds up over time which slows down the cutting performance of sintered products, and expose new diamond for renewed cutting action. Lightly run your burs over this sharpening block with water at a low rpm.

It is important to remember that this process is destructive, and does remove material from your tools so it is important to not dress your sintered tools frequently or when not needed. Slowed cutting can occur when cutting extremely hard, porous, "grabby" materials or when your sintered tools run too hot which can cause the matrix to become soft during those times. For use with sintered tools ONLY! Using them on single layer diamond surfaces like plated and brazed products will quickly destroy your tools.

Specifications

The blocks measure approximately 100 mm x 15 mm, and the large blocks measure approximately 75 mm x 25 mm x 8 mm thick. For use ONLY on SINTERED diamond products.

Choose from two available grits:

  • The silicon carbide coarse (green) block works best on coarse sintered tools, below 100 grit. This stick is aggressive and will cause high wear on smaller sizes.
  • The aluminum oxide fine (white) block is general purpose and works best on blades and finer sintered tools above 100 grit.
