Polishing Brush Burs
Polishing and texturing brush burs are used to buff and remove scratches or light damage on your jewelry projects, or spot-refining stone finishes.
These rotary brush burs are made from a variety of materials to suit your needs. Scouring pads can clean and smooth minor scuffing and wear on precious metals, while cloth and yarn brushes are much softer and made to hold your favorite buffing compound such as brown tripoli compound, gold and silver polish, Zip buffing compound, or other polishes. Once your compound is loaded on the brush, the burs are spun and applied directly to metal. This is typically the final step of metal finishing, leaving your jewelry with a high shine. You should regularly clean your brushes when over time, the polishing compound builds up and hardens which reduces their effectiveness.
These small rotary brushes are optionally mounted to a sturdy steel mandrel for use in your Foredom flex-shaft handpieces or Dremel compatible with a 2.35mm shank. Unmounted brushes can be selected to mount to reinforced stainless mandrels or your bench lathe.
